Funny Invite To A Meeting
In the year of 1,981, at the initiative of a team members Ladies Garden Club of municipality quimbayunos were called upon to the participation in a contest Municipal Lighting with Lamps, obtaining a resounding success that from its second version is became one of the most massive events representative western Colombia and all Colombia. Since then, we could build quimbayunos another icon of local identity, work product Community Civic allows closer to the neighbors, as well empowerment massive also allows us to be participatory, managers and "owners" of a spectacular event, multicolored monumental and unique in the world, which for that uniqueness, deserved recognition of the H. Departmental Assembly approval of Ordinance 0023 September 26, 2006, was declared "GOOD INTANGIBLE CULTURAL INTEREST, THE FESTIVAL OF CANDLES AND LAMPS THE MUNICIPALITY OF QUIMBAYA QUINDIO." Today, ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF CANDLES AND LAMPS, position not only to our town, BUT THE DEPARTMENT OF QUINDIO to Colombia and the world as one of the massive celebrations worthy of being visited during the holiday season and making the wonderful complement to tourism that the region has all visitors national and foreign.
Year after year, we light in our beautiful county, being more than two hundred city blocks ; an amount which exceeds thirty thousand beautiful multicolored lanterns and hundreds of designs collect and embody the arts and creativity popular, with forty thousand inhabitants committed to their devotion, providing warmth and kindness to visitor with a municipal administration as dedicated team to achieve success of the celebration with a physical environment, social and tourist magnificent, with a reception levels calculated in fifty thousand visitors marveled for the show and, by a desire immense recognition in our top celebration as "GOOD OF INTANGIBLE CULTURAL INTEREST of the Colombian nation."
